I love taking tiny bits of fabric and making something as large as this. The color combinations are endless. Each tier could be a different color for a bright rainbow effect. Supplies Prep 40 fabric scraps (5 pieces each from 8 fabrics) for the skirt body (you will have a few spare pieces, depending on how you put your skirt together): Size 2: 2" × 51⁄4" Size 3: 21⁄4" × 51⁄2" Size 4: 21⁄2" × 53⁄4" Size 5: 23⁄4" × 6" Size 6: 3" × 6" Size 7: 31⁄4" × 61⁄4" Size 8: 31⁄2" × 61⁄2" 2 fabric scraps and 2 pieces of lightweight fusible interfacing for the waistband: Size 2: 41⁄2"× 15" Sizes 3 and 4: 43⁄4" × 151⁄2" Sizes 5 and 6: 5" × 161⁄2" Sizes 7 and 8: 51⁄4" × 17" 14 strips of fabric for the ruffle (Note: If you do not have a serger, make each piece 1⁄2" wider than specified here; for example, 13⁄4" for size 2): Sizes 2 and 3: 11⁄4" × 40" Sizes 3 and 4: 11⁄2" × 40" Sizes 5 and 6: 13⁄4" × 44" Sizes 7 and 8: 2" × 44" 1" wide elastic (measure your child’s waist and subtract one inch) 1 Cut all fabric pieces out of prewashed and pressed fabric.
