We have had our wedding planned for months now. Devon just was unable to afford my ring at the time. On April 22, 2015 I am about to walk out the door and head to Belmont to meet with some florists to discuss costs of bouquets and everything else needed for the wedding on June 6 of this year. I am freaking out because that is only 45 days away. Before I open the door, Devon says, “Will you study with me?” He meant study our Bible together before I left for Belmont that day. I said, “Yes, but I have to hurry. I have to go find a florist.” I walked over to the recliner he was sitting in and he had his Bible in his lap. I thought we would just look on together like every other time we study “together.” He tilted his Bible, so I couldn’t see it. He said, “Get your own.” I said, “I don’t know where it is.” He asked if I was referring to the tan colored one, which I was. I then grabbed it off the coffee table behind me and asked what chapter to turn to. He said, “Ephesians Chapter 5.” I turned to it, and on that page was a big piece of paper that had blue writing saying,“Will You Marry Me?” Thinking it was like the times before where he has just asked not literally proposed, I said, “I’ve already told you yes!” I slammed my Bible shut. He told me to open it back up and read the chapter with him. While I am reading, I get to the end of the page and see dangling from the bookmark in my Bible my engagement ring. I don’t know what to say except accept my ring and tell him to put it on my finger. I am just overwhelmed with joy. As most know, I have been waiting on my ring for a while, and the way he proposed will forever be a special memory. I could not ask for a better way to go about everything.
